World leader in pig handling systems

Butina has more than 35 years of experience in the development, design and production of CO2-Stunning Systems and Automatic Driveway Systems for handling of up to 1500 pigs per hour.

The Company was established in its present form in 1972 in Copenhagen by engineer Klaus Haumann on the basis of patented CO2-stunning systems for pigs. In 1978 engineer Ejvind Kildegaard joined the company and in 1981 the company moved to rented premises in Holbæk, 70 km west of Copenhagen. In 1983 Butina took possession of these premises.

Due to the development the factory soon got too small and in 1985 new production premises and offices were built at the present address. These were further extended in the years 1987, 1990, 1993, 1999 and 2001. In December 2006 Butina aquired new factory premises with the purpose of establishing an even more modern and effecient production.
