Animal welfare has become increasingly more important for the modern slaughter house. The handling of the pigs in the lairage often causes stress to the animals, because the oprators do not have the proper understanding of animal handling. At the same time the manual handling is often labor intensive and expensive.

To overcome these problems, Butina has developed a unique animal handling system consisting of automatic and moving gates.

The system is relevant for all slaughter houses with a capacity exceeding 200 pigs per hour, but can handle up to 1.500 pigs per hour.
